HOMINY, Okla. (AP) — The accomplice of an Oklahoma man scheduled to die Thursday says he was disappointed the condemned man didn't confess when given the opportunity at a clemency hearing last month.

Timothy Shaun Stemple is sentenced to die by injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. Prosecutors say he and Terry Hunt beat Stemple's wife to death with a bat and ran her over with a truck along U.S. 75 in Tulsa.

In a prison interview Sunday, Terry Hunt says he knows nothing that would change Stemple's fate.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A spokesman for Gov. Mary Fallin said the governor is unlikely to stay the execution of Timothy Stemple, who is scheduled to die on Thursday.

Spokesman Alex Weintz said Tuesday that Fallin reviewed the case and said it would be "very unlikely" a stay would be granted. The Oklahoma Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty met with Fallin's deputy general counsel Rebecca Frazier to plead for a stay of execution.

Coalition co-chair Lydia Polley said Stemple's family has compiled evidence that was never presented in court.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty plans to meet with one of Gov. Mary Fallin's staff members in an effort to persuade Fallin to issue a stay of execution in the case of Timothy Stemple.

Coalition co-chair Lydia Polley says the coalition will hold an 11 a.m. news conference at the Capitol Tuesday after a meeting with Fallin's deputy general counsel Rebecca Frazier. Stemple's execution is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday.

Family members of Oklahoma death row inmate Timothy Stemple are appealing to Governor Fallin to delay his March 15th execution date.

Stemple's sister and other relatives who held a news conference in Tulsa yesterday want a forensic animation specialist to present evidence conflicting with the state's account used to convict the now 46-year-old.

Stemple's then 30-year-old wife Trisha was run over and beaten to death in 1996.
