Tulsa, OK – Lawmakers scrutinize state tax credits

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State lawmakers will conduct a study next week on a variety of tax credits that cost the state hundreds of millions each year.

Rep. Jeff Hickman will oversee Monday's study of current tax credits, exemptions and incentives, along with a proposed tax incentive review committee.

Hickman currently serves as chairman of the House Revenue and Taxation Subcommittee, but was elected last week to be the next speaker pro tem, the No. 2 post in the House.

Charges Filed In Boy's Death

Muskogee, OK – Okla prosecutor charges man in death of 4-year-old

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) Muskogee County prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old man with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a 4-year-old boy.

Aaron Laconsello appeared Friday before a judge via a video camera.

Police say someone broke into the home of Dakota Lane and stabbed him 36 times with a pair of scissors Tuesday night. Dakota died Wednesday at a Tulsa hospital.

Bartlesville, OK – Hearing reset for Okla woman charged in death

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) A court hearing has been delayed until Dec. 3 for a Bartlesville woman charged with felony child neglect in the death of her infant, who was found in a washing machine.

The court postponed Lyndsey Fiddler's hearing after learning she didn't have a court-appointed lawyer to represent her yet.

It was Meth

Tulsa, OK – We have a follow-up story for you. We now know what caused Wednesday's apartment fire that left two-dozen people homeless.

Tulsa Fire Department spokesman Tim Smallwood says it was caused by a meth lab inside one of the apartment units.

Many of the neighbors at the Overlook Apartment complex, near 61st and 33rd West Avenue, reported hearing an explosion just prior to the fire being spotted. He says their input was very valuable in the investigation.

Oklahoma City, OK – Rain, snow possible as storm moves across Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) There could be heavy rain, heavy snow or a little bit of both, depending on where you live in Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service says the Oklahoma Panhandle could see some snow Friday as a powerful storm system blows through the region and temperatures tumble. Forecasters say any snow accumulations are expected to remain under an inch.

Weleekta Murders Update

Weleetka, OK – FBI asked to profile killer of Oklahoma girls

WELEETKA, Okla. (AP) The FBI is being asked to develop a profile of the killer or killers of two young girls in eastern Oklahoma in 2008.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown told The Oklahoman that investigators have given the FBI portions of their files in the deaths of Taylor Paschal-Placker and Skyla Whitaker. The 13-year-old Paschal-Placer and 11-year-old Whitaker were found shot to death June 8, 2008, near Weleetka.

Missing Woman Found

Tulsa, OK – Missing 80-year-old Oklahoma woman found alive

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) A missing 80-year-old Midwest City woman has been found alive in the wreckage of her car in McIntosh County about 100 miles from her home.

Police Chief Brandon Clabes said in a news release Thursday that a wildlife ranger found Shirley Cannon Thursday morning still strapped in the seat belt of her upside down car. Clabes says Cannon was taken to a hospital in Henryetta her condition was not immediately known.

Tulsa, OK – The annual Tulsa Veterans Day Parade stepped off on 11-hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Lines were long downtown for the annual celebration honoring America's service personnel.

The parade features high school bands, floats, ROTC units and much more.
