Oklahoma City, OK – Funds help Okla. doctors move to digital records

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) An Oklahoma medical foundation will get $5.3 million in federal stimulus funding to help doctors in the state move from paper to electronic patient medical records.

The Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality will set up a center to give technical assistance to physicians interested in making the switch to digital records.

Tulsa, OK – You'll have to dig a little deeper to make ends meet. The Public Service Company of Oklahoma is passing along a fuel adjustment cost.

The utility's Stan Whiteford stresses PSO makes no money of the adjustment. If you are an average customer you can expect to pay about $19 dollars more.

Whiteford says the increase is effective with the bill you will receive in April.

Oklahoma City, OK – Bill would require OKC bombing history lessons

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The state Senate has passed legislation to include lessons about the Oklahoma City bombing in state history books.

The Senate passed the measure without opposition Tuesday and sent it Gov. Brad Henry for his signature. It was previously passed by the House.

The April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building killed 168 people and injured hundreds more.

Choctaw, OK – Choctaw homes evacuated because of grass fire

CHOCTAW, Okla. (AP) Emergency officials have allowed residents who were asked to leave their homes because of a large grass fire to return.

About 30 homes in Choctaw were evacuated Tuesday afternoon as crews battled the blaze. There were no reports of injuries.

Muskogee, OK – Missing Muskogee boy found safe in Tulsa

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) A missing 11-year-old Muskogee boy has been found safe in Tulsa and the woman he was seen leaving with has been arrested.

Jacob Southern was reported missing Monday night when failed to return home after playing outside his apartment.

Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council tables a proposal to create a savings account. The emergency fund will come up again next week. Some councilors favor the proposal so that the city would have a reserve account to draw upon in lean financial times.

City Hall and other City offices will be closed on Friday, April 2, for Good Friday. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water emergency may call 596-9488 day or night, and for a sewer problem call 669-6100.

Trash service in Tulsa also will operate as normal on Friday, including any scheduled curbside recycling.

Tulsa, OK – On Wednesday March 31, 2010 Members of the Oklahoma Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) will be raising funds from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM at several locations in the Tulsa Metro Area. The funds will be collected to support the continuing care of 6 year old Jeremiah Mitchell, who was affected by the bacterial meningitis outbreak at the Oolagah/Talala schools.
