Oklahoma City, OK – A measure to allow school districts to use state textbook allocations for instructional expenses passed the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Education Wednesday. Sen. Gary Stanislawski said Senate Bill 1784 would help school districts struggling financially due to budget cuts.
WARNER, Okla. (AP) State fire officials say a blaze that heavily damaged an all-purpose arena in Warner was deliberately set.
The fire erupted at the RangeLine Arena before dawn on Tuesday. The flames were so intense, they burned through the metal roof and warped the beams of the 46,400 square-foot building, which hosts everything from motorcycle races to rodeo events.

Tulsa, OK – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol spent Wednesday afternoon investigating an head-on crash near Berryhill. The accident happened on the Gilcrease Expressway near west 51st street. The Highway Patrol says one of the cars crossed the center line and plowed head-on into the oncoming vehicle.
The Patrol says one person was killed and two others were taken to the hospital. One of the injured was in critical condition, the other had less serious injuries.
Sand Springs, OK – Highway 412 looked like a demolition derby this morning near the Keystone Dam. Freezing fog made an overpass on the highway, near 177th West Avenue extremely slick. Cars came upon the slick overpass without warning.
At least 20-cars were involved in the chain reaction crash. The expressway was shut down for over two hours.
EMSA transported four people to Tulsa hospitals from the crash site.
