Public Radio Tulsa Operations Director
POSITION SUMMARY

The Public Radio Tulsa Operations Director reports to the General Manager and is primarily responsible for maintaining station operations, including: programming, maintaining and updating all computerized station program logs, ensuring accuracy of all scheduled programs, recordings and specials; keeping updated program logs for station in FCC public file; programming, scheduling and maintaining all recorded programs and recording logs through the Content Depot automated recording software; carrying out all maintenance of the BSI Simian and PRSS automated recording software on a regularly scheduled basis; recording, scheduling and inserting programming into broadcast schedule; overseeing quality control on all recorded programs, checking all programs for recording faults and deficiencies; recording and maintaining up-to-date emergency back-ups of all recorded national and local program; maintaining and overseeing station’s compliance with FCC regulations; recording, tagging and scheduling all daily and weekly national program promos; overseeing the production of daily and weekly promos for local programs; maintaining updated generic promos for all station programs; writing and producing daily on-air promos for programs as needed; providing voice talent and production help on fund drives, local programs, breaking news events and emergency events as needed; being available at all times for station emergencies and to fill in on air as needed. This position also supervises student workers. Experience producing and hosting classical musical programming a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One year's experience in radio; proficiency with Windows operating systems; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills and attentiveness to detail; ability to multi-task and work under pressure; effectiveness in communicating with diverse groups of people both internal and external to the University.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Public radio experience; proficiency with BSI Simian radio automation system; proficiency with Adobe Audition or prior experience in digitally editing sound for broadcast; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; prior radio operations experience; prior classical music programming and hosting experience.

HOURS
Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00; on-call 24 hours during emergencies. Additional hours likely during twice-yearly on-air fundraisers.
