Tulsa Office Fire In Historic Area

Tulsa fire investigators are looking for the cause of a pre-dawn fire in a historic section of downtown. The fire broke out about 4:45 this morning at the Council Oak Center in the 1700 block of South Cheyenne, an old home that had been converted to office space. It is near the Creek Nation's Council Oak Tree, where tribal members first met when they relocated to Oklahoma.

Fire officials reported heavy smoke and flames coming from inside the office building when the first fire trucks rolled to the scene.

The fire caused about $100,000 in damages.  The offices have been under renovation. There were no injuries associated with the blaze.
