Tulsa, OK – Hot temperatures and high humidities will return for the middle
to latter portions of the week, which will push afternoon heat
index values into the 105 to 110 degree range. Additionally,
overnight low temperatures will only cool into the mid to
upper 70s with even warmer readings occurring within highly
urbanized areas. There does remain a level of uncertainty of the
degree of afternoon humidity, however once confidence increases
then portions of the watch may be upgraded to excessive heat
warnings or advisories.
An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and
high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in
which heat illnesses are possible. drink plenty of fluids, stay
in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up
on relatives and neighbors.
