COPS Grant

Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council will take initial action on Thursday dealing with accepting federal stimulus funds to hire additional police officers.

But, some councilors are deeply concerned about the strings attached to accepting the money. The city would have to pay for the 18-additional officers in the fourth year.

The councilors want to know where that money would come from prior to signing off on any such agreement.
