Okmulgee, OK – Manslaughter charges filed in death of Okla. girl

OKMULGEE, Okla. (AP) Prosecutors have charged the foster parent of a 3-year-old girl with manslaughter after the girl died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Prosecutors filed the charges against 61-year-old Sharon Whitecloud nearly nine months after the death of Kyra Zubah. The child was admitted to a Tulsa hospital and declared brain dead on Nov. 10. Kyra was in the foster care of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.

The charges, which were filed Wednesday, accuse Whitecloud of grabbing, shaking and pushing the girl, causing her to hit her head on a solid object.
